Erica – March 2020-21 Student of the month

Posted By Fred Wittenberger

Erica is a member of the varsity girl’s softball team, the Best Buddies program, the H-Club, and currently serves as Vice-President of the HUHS Concert Choir.  She also participated in girls’ basketball (2 years) and girls’ volleyball (1 year).  Erica participated in the fall musical Little Shop of Horrors her sophomore year and Shrek: The Musical her junior year where she played Teen Fiona.  She has qualified for state Solo and Ensemble for voice solos several times and won several awards for her picture taking when she was on The Hartford Chronicle her sophomore and junior year.

Erica has volunteered her time serving community lunches held by several churches in town and has also helped deliver meals on wheels in the summertime.  Through H-Club, she has participated in the Salvation Army Bell ringing campaign, the Toys for Tots drive, the Thanksgiving food drive, and the Erin School fitness day.

After graduation from high school, Erica plans to attend East Georgia State College to study psychology and play softball.  East Georgia State College is a two-year school so after that, she will transfer to a four-year college to hopefully play two more years of softball and earn her psychology degree.  Erica hopes to go onto graduate school to earn her master’s degree in sports psychology.  She would like to coach college softball and ultimately would like to be a full-time head coach.
