Dawn Bondhus introduced Elaine Motl, Executive Director of the Washington County Convention & Visitor Bureau.  Elaine has served as the director since 2010.  The mission of the organization is building stronger communities and businesses by promoting tourism that features Washington County’s cultural, recreational, and historical attractions.  She highlighted some interesting statistics about tourism in Washington County.

  • The top attractions are Holy Hill, the Museum of Wisconsin Art, the Wisconsin Auto Museum, Pike Lake State Park and the Schauer Arts and Activities Center.
  • Marketing and Advertising is done outside of Washington County.  60,000 booklets promoting day trips are circulated in counties near Washington County.  15,000 booklets are circulated in the Chicago area.
  • In 2019, Washington County was ranked 24th out of the 72 counties in Wisconsin bringing in $131 million dollars in tourist revenue.
