The Future of Centennial Park
Steve Volkert introduced Mike Herman who spoke about the Future of Centennial Park in Hartford. Project for 2020 include replacing the millpond north wall and replacing the walkway bridge. The total cost of the redevelopment plan at Centennial Park is $3,114,938.00. Up to 50% of the project is grant eligible and the application is pending. Some organizations have already made monetary commitments to the project. Included in the plans are the following: multipurpose shelter with restrooms, open lawn area for concerts/farmers market, fishing platforms that are wheelchair accessible, canoe and kayak launch, walking paths, playground areas, and an expanded parking area.
