Katerina – May 2017-18 Student of the Month

Katerina is a member of the National Honor Society, Model United Nations Club, The Math Team, National Honor Society, and is the current Co-President of the HUHS Student Council.  She has also participated in girl’s softball and Forensics.  Katerina is Secretary of the HUHS Choral Program and had a lead role playing Winifred Banks in the HUHS production of Mary Poppins during her junior year.  Katerina was named an Advanced Placement Scholar with Honor her junior year and Advanced Placement plus Project Lead the Way Student Achievement Award in Biomedical Sciences her senior year.

Katerina has given back to her community by volunteering her time with the Wisconsin Leadership Seminars, St. Kilian School Music Ministry, Hartford Players Community Theater, and as a Certified Nursing Assistant at Aurora Medical Center-Washington County.

Katerina will attend the University of Georgia in the fall to major in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology.  She will also minor in Global Health.  After obtaining her Bachelor of Science degree, Katerina would like to go to Graduate School to earn a PhD.  Eventually, she would like to work for the CDC as an Epidemiologist with the hope of promoting and implementing more efficient and effective methods of healthcare in struggling regions of the world.
